Colour has always been at the heart of Le Creuset. For 100 years, Le Creuset has continued to lead in colour, creating hues that resonate beyond the kitchen and shape the way the world experiences cooking, entertaining and home design.
Now, Le Creuset – the pioneer of colour in the kitchen – and Pantone – the global authority on colour storytelling and trend forecasting – come together to celebrate colour innovation and commemorate two iconic colours: the original Volcanic (Flame) and the centenary shimmering hue Flamme Dorée. Together, they symbolise the evolution of colour over a century and the power of colour to inspire and connect.
Volcanic
As eternal as its name, Volcanic (Flame) is our most iconic colour of all. Inspired by the pour of molten iron, it is a glowing, confident orange, ready to fire up your kitchen and appetite.
Introduced in 1925, Volcanic (Flame) is Le Creuset’s trademark hue. Beloved for its French classicism, heralded for its pure energy, its brilliant spirit, its raging intensity – this iconic colour has been a cornerstone of kitchens around the world over the years.
Aptly known as Volcanique in France, it’s authentic, it’s celebrated, it’s the one and only.
Flamme Dorée
One hundred years after introducing the heritage colour that ignited it all, Flamme Dorée – Golden Flame – strikes a perfect balance between rich tradition and modern innovation.
Flamme Dorée is specially produced using an innovative new process, combining a third layer of enamel with light catching minerals. The colour goes beyond the gradient effect in many of Le Creuset’s other colours, displaying added depth, dimension and effervescence.
This celebratory hue pays tribute to the past while illuminating the path to the future.
